Our PhD student Bárbara Sousa was selected to attend the FENS-Hertie Winter School on Neuro-immune interactions in health and disease from 29 January to 4 February 2023 in Obergurgl, Austria.
This Winter School was a great opportunity to learn and discuss with fellow neuroscientists and prestigious faculty members from several Universities in Europe and the US, surrounded by the beautiful snowy landscapes of the Austrian Alps.
Our former MSc student Beatriz Ribeiro was awarded with a funded scholarship from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT).
She will be developing a PhD project on the neuronal function of IgLON5 and the pathological mechanisms triggered by anti-IgLON5 antibodies. Beatriz will be jointly supervised by Dr. Ana LuÃsa Carvalho and Dr. LuÃs Ribeiro, from the Synapse Biology group of Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), and Dr. Sandra Vieira (the PI of our Lab).
